Autodesk has releasedNavisworks 2024 Update 1. This project review software is used to improve coordination on BIM (Building Information Modeling) projects.


Enhancements in Navisworks 2024 Update 1
Navisworks 2024 Update 1 includes the following enhancements:
General Enhancements

• Improvements made to opening and refresh of NWF which was slower in Navisworks 2024 than in Navisworks 2023. Due to a required technology change this will still be slower than Navisworks 2023, but much improved compared to Navisworks 2024 (NW-59254).
  
• Improvements made to opening a DWFx in Navisworks which was taking a long time (NW-58491)
  
• Allow the use of ' as ft when using Units and Transform (NW-58961).
  

KML Export
- A new default limit is set of 250,000 polygons when exporting to KML. Today there is no polygon limit when exporting to Google Earth KML/KMZ files. However, for large models the export can fail because Navisworks generates a KML file larger than 4GB, which cannot be stored inside the KMZ file (this is a limitation of the ZIP file format) and Google Earth can't load KML files larger than 4GB (NW-59506).
VUE Files
- Improvements to how Navisworks handles a mix of moniker and dmrs ids (NW-59083)

Navisworks 2024 Update 1 includes the following fixes:
General Fixes

• Resolved an issue while loading specific NWD files which contained RCP data (NW-58868).
  
• Resolved an issue where it wasn't possible to show grids in Navisworks Freedom 2024 (NW-59178)
  
• Resolved an issue with point clouds not appearing during clipping actions (NW-59229, NW-58687).
  
• Resolved an issue when adding a AutoCAD drawing (either formerly exported to NWC-file or directly a DWG-file), where the color in Navisworks is different to that in AutoCAD (NW-58714).
  
• Resolved an issue where the Navisworks mouse would flicker when moving during "Resize Floor"/ "Grip Snap" / "Set Landing Surface" (NW-58826).
  
• Resolved an issue where SwitchBack does not bring the AutoCAD 2024 window to the foreground (NW-58836).
  
• Resolved an issue with walking speed being lower in Navisworks 2024 than it was in 2023 (NW-59140).
  
• Resolved an issue where attachment points were not being placed where a user clicked (NW-59339).
  

Coordination Issues Add-in
- Resolved an issue When loading files from Coordination Space in Navisworks, the dimensions/measurements shown in Properties are incorrect (NW-59491).
Revit Files

• Resolved an issue where Family model and DWG inserted in Revit are duplicated in Navisworks (NW-58376).
  
• Resolved an issue where some older versions of RVT files would not open in new versions of Navisworks (NW-58853).
  
• Resolved an issue where loading files from Coordination Space into a metric project, the properties for a file that has pipes in inches are incorrect (NW-59153).
  
• Resolved an issue where Navisworks Freedom 2024 cannot show Revit material correctly (NW-59191).
  

Plant 3D Files
- Resolved an issue where the error "There is not enough temporary disk space..." was displayed when trying to open this Plant 3D model in Navisworks 2024 (NW-59250).
DWG Files

• Resolved an issue with retrieving the area property value when opening DWG files in Navisworks (NW-59273).
  
• Resolved an issue where point clouds can be displayed in the incorrect position in Navisworks (NW-59451).
  

DGN Files
- Resolved an issue where some DGN files would crash when using NWCOUT export tool in MicroStation Connect (NW-59258).
CATPART Files
- Resolved an issue where CATIA V5-6 model cannot be displayed in Navisworks (NW-57537).
VUE Files
- Resolved an issue opening VUE files without a MDB2 file associated (NW-58576).

Multidisciplinary models created in a broad range of applications - including information from Building Information Modeling (BIM), digital prototypes, and process plant design - can be combined into a single integrated project model and published into the NWD format usingAutodesk Navisworks Simulate or Autodesk Navisworks Manage software. The published file provides access to model hierarchy, object properties, and embedded review data, including viewpoints, animations, markups, and comments.
