Crytek releasedCryEngine 5.7- the first major update since 2019. The list of changes, significantly different from the initial roadmap, includes Scaleform 4 integration, the Scaleform Schematyc and GamePlatform plug-ins, Visual Studio 2022 support, and more.

What's new in CryEngine 5.7 Long Term Support Update (LTS)

Introducing Scaleform 4 - the last stable version of the game development middleware - features customized rendering for higher performance and supports ActionScript 3.0, which allows using Adobe Animate. The update also introduces Scaleform Schematyc - a plug-in that can emulate the necessary functions provided by Flow Graph for the UI system. It supports both Scaleform 3 and 4. The updated GamePlatform plug-in, which allows communication between the Engine and platform services, now supports various platforms such as Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox and includes an optional new plug-in, which provides visual scripting nodes for Flow Graph and Schematyc.

Additionally, the engine added support for Visual Studio 2017, 2019, and 2022, as well as the C++17 standard implementation. Windows SDK has been updated to 10.0.20348.0. Other minor changes mostly include various fixes. The team also promised to distribute source code via a private repository for registered developers. The company says it's working on the next full version of the engine and will be doing a lot of updates this year.

-The GamePlatform pluginis an update to the plugin that shipped with CRYENGINE 5.6. Expanded features include support for Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. It also includes an optional new plugin that provides visual scripting nodes for Flow Graph and Schematyc. The deprecated Discord Rich Presence SDK has also been updated to the Discord Game SDK. -Visual Studio 2017 - 2022 SupportEngine code and CMake has been updated to support Visual Studio versions 2017, 2019, and 2022. Visual Studio 2015 support has been deprecated. Along with this upgrade, support for the C++17 standard implementation has been added, while Windows SDK has been updated to 10.0.20348.0.
